Writing Win: Plotting

I wanted to share a writing win I had recently. It seems that the faster I write my story the more my subconscious takes over and comes up with pretty awesome plot lines.

The other day I was world-building because I realized I should know more about the world I was writing in before I could continue with the plot. This led to a prequel idea and the beginning of a fairly original world that has the potential for a lot of novels to be set there.

I basically created a possible author brand because I was writing so fast that my subconscious took over. It felt like I was on top of the world. It was a great rush of adrenaline during the process of coming up with these ideas.

Not only that, but I brainstormed the ending to the novel I am working on and a surprising twist that I had accidentally set up earlier. It was the perfect adding of significance to something that was unimportant before.

In other words, I am very happy with my brain and the way it is working for me as of late. Just another reason to write as fast as I can.

Now, there’s a lot of work that is to be done on this book because the whole direction changed 45,000 words in, but it is a much better book now then it started out as.
